Where the magic happens…

Wanna know what my workspace looks like when I do make-up? OF COURSE YOU DO!

Before you look: It’s not so glamorous, don’t get your self over-excited…

It’s messy but practical… Here you can see make-up, a mirror, a hairbrush, headband, tissue and a sky remote. I like to listen to music whilst I do make-up…. Oh and part of my bed.

I haven’t been so happy today. I applied for a job at Boots for a Smashbox counter last week and today I found out that I didn’t get it. Don’t expect to see any Smashbox reviews on here any time soon. If i’m not good enough for them, they’re not good enough for me.

So, as a little dig at boots I shall tell you some cheap cosmetics and such like I love and give you the SUPERDRUG urls for them 🙂
Miss Sporty Mini-Me Eye Liner in Black Raven (£2.59) I love this eyeliner as it’s automatic so no sharpening and it comes out so easily, smoothly and bold! It’s the best eyeliner EVER!

NYC Show Time Volumising Mascara (£1.99) I love this mascara as it’s not too thick, never dries out and after just one coat it looks EHMAZING!

Nivea Visage Daily Essentials Gentle Cleansing Wipes for Dry or Sensitive Skin (£1.49 = usually £3.05) They’re not THE cheapest of wipes but they’re reasonably priced and THE best wipes on the market – not too dry or too wet and clean make-up off in an instant. What’s even better – they’re so gentle but effective!

Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil Black/Brown (£2.99) This pencil is a godsend! It glides on perfectly and has a little brush on the lid for perfect blending and shaping.

One more thing for being such lovely readers – i’m going to tell you my secret of buying cosmetics cheaply: Ebay and Google.

I buy so many cosmetics off Ebay because of the discounted prices they sell them at and Google is perfect for finding a site where they sell discounted and discontinued products!

http://www.cosmeticsfairy.co.uk/ is a great, cheap site that even has a 99p or less page! Definitely worth a browse!

Until next time,

Easy Wax Electrical Roll-on by Veet.

So for my birthday I got the new Easy Wax Roll-on – I was super excited! I shouldn’t have been. I’m impatient. When I went to the salon before I went to Greece I got my legs waxed and it took about 10 minutes – no pain, no patches of missed hair. It also left my legs smooth for bloody ages – THIS TIME… not so much.

Texture: Was ok to roll on, wasn’t too stiff but it wasn’t exactly a honey texture which I was expecting.

Feel on skin: Warm and when I took it off it sometimes was terribly painful. Mostly it was pretty much pain-free though.

Hair removal: I had to repeat the next day and it still missed patches of skin. If your skin is sensitive – steer clear because it takes about 5 times to remove the hair and your legs can become incredibly sore and bumpy.

Wax removal: You have to SCRUB SCRUB SCRUB with them perfect finish wipes – again sensitive skins steer clear!

Price: £29.99. Pretty darn cheap in my opinion for what it is.

Good points: After a while it removed the hair with no stubble left and they felt super soft. It was also easy application. Only takes 20 mins to heat up and stays warm for 15 mins when unplugged or warm for as long as you want when plugged in, never goes too hot – stays the same temperature.

Bad points: Gotta wax one patch many times, hair grows back quicker than a wax at a salon (but much slower than a shave), you gotts scrub the hell out of your legs to remove the wax. You need lots of patience.

Star rating: ***(and a half) out of *****

Lip service ;)

I got a fantastic recipe that’s super easy to make and great for your lips! My lips become super dry every day and I can’t leave the house without my lip balm so I decided that I will start to exfoliate them! So follow these steps to super soft lips in no time:

1) Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to 2 heaped teaspoons of sugar.

2) Add 1 of the following:

a) A teaspoon of cocoa or hot chocolate for a tasty treat 😉

b) A teaspoon of crushed chillies or chilli oil to make your lips plumper and redder

c) A teaspoon of fruit juice for a fruity kiss!

3) Scrub a bit of the mixture all over your mouth and either wash away or even lick off!

4) Save the rest in a cool, dry place.

I certainly think that i’m a genius for that! Another great thing is that these edible scrubs last for a super long time so find a little pretty pot, fill it up with some scrub, decorate it with some ribbon or such like and it makes a great gift for when you’re strapped for cash! (And if your boyfriend has chapped lips – give him a pot for being “such a great guy!”

Oh and btw people, try heading over to http://www.simple. co.uk and becoming a simple VIP if you have sensitive skin. You can get discounts and chances to win prizes and I love being a VIP myself 😉

One more thing: Thank you so much to all my followers and viewers. I’ve had some really lovely comments lately and they truly mean a lot and make me very happy! Please share and give your friends the chance to invest in these great tips!

When you’re not allowed to use make-up…

I have an eye infection.

It sucks.

I went to work yesterday without a shred of make-up.

It was my birthday on the third and I got the new Easy Wax roll-on by Veet! Review coming soon! (<– That was totally irrelevant to this post but it just needed a mention ;))

Okay, so what happens when you can’t use make-up? Pamper your skin! When I exfoliate, then CTMM (cleanse, tone, moisturise, mask), my skin feels so lovely and it won’t irritate your skin if you use the right products, but you can’t use the same products everyday so for a pamper week I would recommend by starting the week with a CTMM, then try new home-made beauty products! Here’s a weeks guide to pampering your skin!

Day 1) CTMM.

Day 2) Google a home-made face mask recipe/have a look at one of my food posts/or try this spot-zapping, hydrating mask:

a) Grind some sunflower seeds or other super seeds coarsely.

b) Add a table spoon or two of talcum powder and add water drop by drop until it forms a paste.

c) Put in a couple of drops of tea tree oil.

d) Slather all over your face.

e) Wait for 3 minutes and wash off.

Day 3) Fill up a large mixing bowl with boiling water and a couple of drops of your favourite essential oil. Put your face over the bowl (but not touching the water obvs) and cover your hair with a towel so the towel covers the bowl. This beautifying steam treatment cleanses your skin perfectly!

Day 4) Instead of only paying attention to your face, love your whole skin! Use a home-made face mask for your legs!

a) Scrub your legs with a body scrub and rinse off.

b) Dry your legs vigorously with a towel. (Using vigorous movements will get rid of dead/dry skin.

c) Apply the mask to your legs and wrap with cling film.

d) After ten minutes – rinse off.

e) Moisturise your legs and feel how soft your legs are!

Day 5) Do a nice, long, hard work-out! The sweat releases nasty toxins from your skin and after your work out try and sauna or steam room if possible. It will relax you and make you sweat even more!

Day 6) Hand and feet time! Pumice stones are non-harsh ways of making your mains (hands) and pieds (feet) super soft and dead skin free! After using that pumice for all its worth – moisturise to the max and cover them with gloves and socks for a couple of hours!

Day 7) CTMM all over again!

Hope your enjoyed my pampering post so you don’t feel left out when you can’t use make-up!
